How'd You Like 'Em?

 

I've been fantasizing these characters lately especially the monkey. 

I like to have my own characters star in roles that partake realism from all the troubles of the world, and human emotions packed into each other, but also having very likeable and meaningful personalities. 

Here's some movie examples for reference. 

I've been wanting to create more art that inspires my special interest lately and that's old movies. I'm going to post some more Protection Of The Lamb, a Christian project I've been working on, very soon.

July Drawings So Far

 

July has been such a hot month so far, and now that we're in the middle completed, it's already going to get even hotter this time around, only leading to my birthday in more than 2 weeks. 

Here's some drawings I done the course of July 1st- July 16th. 

2 owls at a nightclub. 

The public domain community already seems to rip The Steamboat gang to shreds at this point given that the original cartoon is nearly 100 years old. I like this Pete design best imo. I also gave him more catty whiskers this time. 

I also like the 90s animation time period with the shadowing. 

I made a Don Bluth kind of villain inspired by this cute postcard. 

Here's my designs of Tom and Jerry. People when redesigns happen they get kinda fussy about it. If I were to choose my favorite design of each character, my favorite Tom would be around the early 50s period, and I love the crabstakes outta The Chuck Jones Jerry. 

It's sort of a mix between my favorite designs of the duo but with slightly more details and facial expressions I felt like could help strengthen the personalities just a little more.

Yes I know, I honestly hate that stupid project I put in back in 2024, it was The Ugly Duckling, and the story consisted on adult themes, mental health issues and sue. 😓

But I wanted to also revamp their designs, I could imagine Harold and Marsha talking more like ducks than something like Ren and Stimpy characters or a R-Rated horror.

Christian Drawings

 

I posted my Christian art project on my exploration blog a few weeks ago and I thought that I wanted to show you more drawings. This is a heartfelt project I'm working on for my passion and creative love for everything God.

Names like Lion of Judah, Lamb Of God and Samson. I always wanted to at least make one Christian film. In style to ome of the best colors, and animation I ever seen in cinema. That to me is Secret of NIMH, Mulan, Fievel Goes West and the Ghibli films + inspired by old movies too specifically the Carol Reed and Welles films.

The chicken is actually another one of my characters that don't fit the universe, but I still love drawing him. I respect almost all of the animation designers I've experienced out there in the world, but sometimes designs of characters just felt like products of their time. All I can think of is that chicken from that one George and Junior cartoon and also Foghorn Leghorn, his design is a little more timeless.

Samson II has alot of detail in his design including the one thunder-bolt that resembles his striking wrath. 

If you want the full insight of Lamb of God so far, these are the best examples above. The Lion of Judah is one of the many followers on Bea-Bea's journey, and even though Bea-Bea is known for his playful energy and love for comfortable situations, he has to face against destruction and greed during his family's travels, but not only that but save Judah's life from danger against his enemy Samson II. Pick up your cross. 

Also, there's the Holy Spirit of Jesus, this is my personal portrayal of him. Hope you like it. 👍 

Ol' Friends

 

I seem to not have any enjoyment outta drawing these characters anymore so here's one last portrait of my last drawing of Mike. I'm still going to draw Szac, The Donkey, Dredd and Phillips because I still like drawing them but to me someone like Mike is just a little too basic.

Included more sketches from last month too. These are more cartoony expressions that give the character more appeal. But I really dislike how his design is. I felt like I was in the wrong ballpark, feeling like I need to add a Pluto to the mix of characters.

It's been 2 years, so it's officially rest in peace to Mike.

Don't Ask

 

I had to draw this. It's an officially new character!

After being pulled out by a group of teeth, Dr. Wisdom Tooth talks about the knowledge and "wisdom" about brushing and taking care of your teeth. His job was to get out of the normal teeth and get a real job!

R.I.P Ellie

 

We lost 2 cats this following year so far. May they rest in peace, bless them. Ellie has passed away just a couple of days ago and thought I would make some art like how Ouija was included just almost three months ago. Ellie was part of my mom's friend Julie's house and it's sad to see her go since I haven't really much visited but still remember seeing her.
